As the newest member of the team, Anne brings a depth and variety of experience to Soapbox. For the last four years, her work has focused on advancing education reform in Washington state through strategic coalition building, government affairs, policy analysis and creative communication tactics. Anne has a deep understanding of how to develop a collective voice, build strong partnerships, and develop strategic messaging on complex issues.
In addition to her work in K-12 education, Anne spent four years at the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation where she developed and managed a suite of grants designed to elevate the mission and vision of the foundation. Anne also has experience providing counsel on government affairs issues, developing strategic plans, and has federal legislative experience, having served as a staff member for Senator Maria Cantwell.
Anne holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Seattle University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Gonzaga University. She also serves on the board of the Center for Women & Democracy.
In her free time, Anne is often found lacing up her running shoes for a long run or cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners or University of Washington Huskies with her husband, Michael.
